When you ask people the words they associate with Innovation, they say “creativity, new, different, and risky.” Yet, the most compelling association with the word Innovation is Courage. The greatest innovations of our time were born from people that had the courage to sow their ideas / ideals and give them life. Could you image what the world would be like if we all had the courage to sow our ideas / ideals? Innovation would be abundant, new communities would form; we would all live in a much happier and wealthier place.
Having the courage to innovate is being able to embrace the Entrepreneurial spirit; allowing risk to become your best friend, responsibly. People from developing countries are known as informal entrepreneurs because they had to innovate and create new opportunities, just to survive. In the US, we have had the privileges of education and a system of capitalism to avoid daily survival tactics and thus have viewed Entrepreneurship as a strategic opportunity for wealth creation. |
